M-01 Genji
Genji is 13 years old. He likes trying new foods, arts and crafts, singing, and animals. Genji is sociable, friendly, curious, and laughs a lot. He belongs to a baseball club in Japan and likes playing outside. Genji also likes to play Nintendo Switch. He also plays board games like Catan and Shogi. Genji is interested in coming to Utah to learn about the cultural differences between Utah and Japan. He also wants to make new friends and try new foods.
M-02 Eiji
Eiji is 11 years old. He likes movies, watching tv, reading, hiking, animals, camping, and video games. He enjoys a lot of sports, including baseball, football, soccer, volleyball, badminton, swimming, basketball and more! Basketball is his favorite sport. He is friendly, curious, laughs a lot, honest, and easygoing. Eiji is good at making Pokémon characters with origami and calligraphy. If possible, he would like to ride a horse while in Utah. He would also like to eat ice cream while in America.
M-03 Kenshin
He is 17 years old. He likes movies, tv, camping, animals, and hiking. Kenshin’s hobbies are listening to music, exercising, having fun with friends, camping, and singing karaoke. He also likes to swim. He is curious, cheerful, and friendly. Kenshin wants to learn about Utah’s culture and nature. He would like to interact with animals, local people, and improve his English skills.
M-04 Kazuki
Kazuki is 15 years old. He likes to camp, hike, boat, fish, read, listen to music, and watch movies. Kazuki enjoys running, skiing, swimming, and gymnastics. He would like to go camping with his host family if possible and to experience Utah’s environment.
M-05 Noritora
He is 12 years old. Noritora enjoys drawing, table tennis, and competing. He also is interested in nature, animals, and arts and crafts. Noritora is generous, laughs a lot, cheerful, and easygoing. His older brother enjoyed coming to Utah last summer and Noritora would like to experience Utah too! He is eager to try anything and everything!
M-06 Soshu
Soshu is 10 years old. His hobbies are reading, playing video games, fishing, cycling, swimming, and bowling. Soshu is considerate, loyal, generous, honest, and flexible. He wants to learn what America is like and wants to become proficient in English.
M-07 Rio
He is 15 years old. Rio likes drawing, playing the piano, video games, crafts, playing basketball and baseball, swimming, ping pong, nature and animals. He is independent, tidy, quiet, serious, and easygoing. Rio’s sister came to Utah last year and enjoyed her experience. He was amazed at her English language growth. He wants to be able to practice his English like she did! Rio is also interested in camping, sports, and spending time with his host family while in Utah.
M-08 Rio
He is 13 years old. He loves to watch basketball games. Rio also enjoys movies, tv, studying, reading, and singing. He is sociable, friendly, generous, and cheerful. Rio wants to experience the local language and culture in America. He values communication with his host family and wants to learn different ways of thinking that differ from those in Japan.
M-09 Ryuta
Ryuta is 15 years old. He likes to play soccer and basketball. He also enjoys watching anime on the TV and playing the guitar. He is friendly, independent, generous, tolerant, and honest. While in Utah, he would like to interact with the local people and experience a different culture. He’s interested to see what daily life in the U.S. is like. If possible, he would like to go camping!
