Our mission is to foster relationships between people of different countries by providing cultural education experiences for delegates from foreign countries coming to the United States and for United States delegates to have that same opportunity.
Maresa Manzione
Chair – Teen Counselors
Maresa has been involved with foreign exchange programs since a young age as both a host family & a volunteer. She participated in a homestay as a teen and as a university student and finds any opportunity to go back to Japan. Maresa helps with keeping the program running smoothly throughout the year as well as overseeing our teen counselor program.

Carri Hunt
Vice Chair – Public Relations
Carri has volunteered with overseeing another exchange program, helping in many different ways, for over 20 years previous to the beginning of MWCE. Carri talks with our partners in Japan and has even been able to take 2 groups of teen delegates on homestay to Japan as a chaperone!
Eileen Moss
Treasurer
Eileen has volunteered with a different exchange program for about 15 years prior to MWCE. She worked as the Chief of Operations and Head Chef for many years for the program’s Spring and Summer camps. She now takes care of the finances.
Clay Chugg
Operations Specialist – Translator
Clay spent many years involved as a volunteer with another foreign exchange program previous to joining our team. He served an LDS mission in Japan and speaks fluent Japanese. Clay is a great help as a translator and is now our Operations Specialist. He is always looking for opportunities to help our delegates.
Bailee Merrill
Social Media-PR Manager
Bailee loves all things Japan, and that started when her family hosted Maiko for a summer when she was 16. Maiko became such a good friend that when Bailee went on a trip to Japan 10 years later, she was able to spend a day in Tokyo with Maiko and her friends. Bailee has been with MWCE for 2 years and oversees social media and PR efforts.
Britt Powell
Craft Organizer
Britt Powell has joyfully hosted delegates from Japan for over 13 years, and she enjoys organizing the crafts at camp. Additionally, she has traveled to Japan. Her sons have been team counselors, and her daughter has been a team counselor, and a delegate to Japan last year. She loves being involved with Mountain West Cultural Exchange.
